Last year, I was weak and bought a 45 dollar a year membership to the DC film Society. My membership meant I was able to get into screenings (this is the easiest way to get into screenings out here) and see discount plays. I paid it back, but wasn't going to do it this year...until I realized this was the best way to see art films (aka"I'm not there") etc. I missed the showing of 3:10 to Yuma (Bale and Crowe? Does it get better than that?) and Hot Rod, but there's others in my future. Many others. Besides, a couple of theaters show Neil LaBute plays a couple of times a year...for ten bucks a ticket when you're a member!
